How to Stop Feeling Empty

By |2019-02-07T21:17:33+00:00February 7th, 2019|Depression, Video|

Hey fearless babes!

Welcome to another episode of Meaningful Life with Silvia!

I believe that many people fight depression in February during that cold winter month with long nights so conquering depression is our topic for February. In the last episode, we discussed how to stop multitasking which was a part of our goal-setting topic in January, but it can help lower depression as well.We will dive into the first question:

How to stop feeling empty?

Feeling empty can be accompanied by different other feelings- like fear of being lonely, having no meaning in life, or being addicted to work, food, alcohol or Netflix – to escape the reality. I don’t want to talk about the reasons why you feel empty, because justifying that will not help you move forward and let go of it. Rather, I will look at some things that might help you feel better.

I always wished to be that naturally happy person like my boyfriend is. No matter if it’s sunny or dark, if it’s winter or summer he wakes up with a smile on his face. It’s amazing. And for me, it’s also inspiring. I tend to feel down during winter time and have to do some conscious work towards feeling better. There were days when I could just sit in a chair and stare outside the window. And if you struggling with emptiness from time to time, or on regular basis here are some of my tips I offer you to consider:

To quickly sum it up, my tips are:

  1. Find meaning in your life
  2. Practice some kind of mindfulness
  3. Explore your feelings and embrace them
  4. Give yourself credit
  5. Spend time with yourself regularly

Now I have a question for you:

How do you stay away from feeling empty?

How to Stop Multitasking

Hey fearless babes!

Welcome to another episode of Meaningful Life with Silvia!

It is still January so we want to make sure we have our goals for 2019 set properly. In the last episode, we discussed how to develop self-discipline. Today’s question is:

How to stop multitasking?

I have to admit that a few years back this was a huge topic for me. It felt almost painful to sit down and focus on one thing at a time. My mind was distracted and anxious.

What helped me incredibly much? Being clear about my end-goal, reasons why I want to get there, meditating and yin yoga.

Sometimes, I feel like I am not the same person I used to be, I changed so much. I hope that with time you can experience a similar transformation.

With that said, here are my tips on how to stop multitasking:

To quickly sum it up, my tips are:

  1. Number your to-do list
  2. Work in Intervals
  3. Be present
  4. Don’t let small tasks interrupt the big one
  5. Finish one task before you move to another
  6. Eliminate interruptions

Now I have a question for you:

Do you multitask or it’s easy for you to focus on one task?

Stay tuned for the next episode – In February we will discuss how to fight depression and we will kick it off with the first question – How to stop feeling empty.

How to Develop Self-Discipline

Hey fearless babes!

Welcome to another episode of Meaningful Life with Silvia!

January is a month of proper goal-setting. In the last episode, we discussed how to hack self-motivation.

And today’s question is:

How to develop self-discipline?

Once you have your goals set, they are inspiring, specific and with a deadline and you know how to motivate yourself, another key element to achieving your goals is self-discipline. It’s much easier to be disciplined when there is someone else who is assigning projects and giving you deadlines. For your own goals, projects, and deadlines you need to be much more disciplined. But once you master self-discipline it’s a breeze. How to do it? Here are my tips:

To sum it up, my tips are:

1. Be clear about the why

2. make a list and create a plan

3. Prevent overwhelm

4.Recognize your temptations and learn to eliminate them

5. Reward yourself for sticking to the plan

Now I have a question for you:

What helps you stay self-disciplined?

Thanks for watching! I really hope it helps.

How to Hack Self-Motivation

Hey fearless babes!

Welcome to another episode of Meaningful Life with Silvia!

In the last episode we discussed how to set achievable goals and today we will continue with the question:

How to hack self-motivation?

I feel like motivation is such an abstract term. Everyone wants to be motivated but most of the people actually don’t know what motivation is.

Being motivated is a state of mind when you stay committed to your goals, anticipate opportunities and act on them, and have the personal drive to go the extra mile.

Basically, there are two types of motivation. Positive and negative. Positive motivation is that something you really like or want to happen is pulling you and you work towards it. Negative motivation is based on fear.  Something you really don’t want to happen is pushing you away and you are working hard to go to the other direction. In the beginning, when we don’t know yet how to properly self-motivate ourselves the negative motivation works much better than the positive one. If your boss threatens to fire you or your partner is about to leave you, you are super motivated to reverse that from happening.

As soon as you are more clear on who you are and what you want in life and learn how to motivate yourself, the positive motivation starts to work much better.  Your life experience is much better because you are motivated to work towards your goals and not away from the threats.  Yet, with positive motivation, it’s harder to hack it.

So here are my tips:

To sum it up, my tips are:

1. Start small
2. Know your reasons and revisit them when you flop
3. Just start
4. Make yourself accountable
5. Focus on one goal at a time
6. Don’t skip twice in a row
7. Focus on the feeling at the end

Now I have a question for you:

What helps you stay self-motivated?

Thanks for watching! I really hope it helps.

How to Set Achievable Goals

By |2019-01-08T13:33:20+00:00January 8th, 2019|Video|

Hey fearless babes!

Welcome to another episode of Meaningful Life with Silvia!

Last week we welcomed New Year and I decided to make January a month of proper goal-setting so I’ve found it inspiring to start with the first question:

How can I set goals I actually achieve?

It’s such a good question to start the year off with. Do you belong to those people who set goals in January and in February you don’t even remember what goals have you set for yourself?

I used to be the same. Once in December when I was 17 or so I wrote down a list of 68 goals for the following year. It was supposed to completely transform my life, but it didn’t. I remember reviewing those goals at the end of the next year and realizing I didn’t achieve any of them. I felt like a failure.

But it was not about me not being disciplined or motivated enough or being lazy. It was about the goals. I didn’t set them right.

Proper goals setting is an art. Yet, if you take the time to set them right, it gives you a higher chance of sticking to them and actually achieving what you want to achieve. Here are my tips:

To sum it up, my tips are:

1. Don’t commit to too many goals
2. Create space for your goal
3. Make your goals inspiring
4. Make your goals specific
5. Write your goals down
6. Set a deadline
7. Reward yourself

Now I have a question for you:

Do you stay committed to your goals and if so what makes them stick?

Thanks for watching! I really hope it helps.
