Fighting depression is our topic for February. In the last episode, we discussed how to stop feeling empty. Today, the question I will answer is

How to overcome loneliness?

From time to time all of us feel lonely, disconnected from others and somehow estranged from the world. The important thing is not to stay in that state but seek opportunities to deepen our connection with others and even the relationship with self.

Being alone doesn’t necessarily require to feel lonely, but we can actually enjoy that time and spend it developing ourselves, learning, nurturing our souls or working out.

So if you feel lonely, start doing something today to change it! And here are my tips on what to do:

To quickly sum it up, my tips are:

  1. Realize that loneliness is a feeling not a fact
  2. Discover why you feel lonely
  3. Develop meaningful relationships
  4. Focus on the good things in your relationships
  5. Seek the help of a therapist
