I believe that many people fight depression in February during that cold winter month with long nights so conquering depression is our topic for February. In the last episode, we discussed how to stop multitasking which was a part of our goal-setting topic in January, but it can help lower depression as well.We will dive into the first question:

How to stop feeling empty?

Feeling empty can be accompanied by different other feelings- like fear of being lonely, having no meaning in life, or being addicted to work, food, alcohol or Netflix – to escape the reality. I don’t want to talk about the reasons why you feel empty, because justifying that will not help you move forward and let go of it. Rather, I will look at some things that might help you feel better.

I always wished to be that naturally happy person like my boyfriend is. No matter if it’s sunny or dark, if it’s winter or summer he wakes up with a smile on his face. It’s amazing. And for me, it’s also inspiring. I tend to feel down during winter time and have to do some conscious work towards feeling better. There were days when I could just sit in a chair and stare outside the window. And if you struggling with emptiness from time to time, or on regular basis here are some of my tips I offer you to consider:

  1. Find meaning in your life
  2. Practice some kind of mindfulness
  3. Explore your feelings and embrace them
  4. Give yourself credit
  5. Spend time with yourself regularly
